What the Centre Offers You
We aim to provide a relaxed and comfortable environment which is friendly and non judgmental. A non-clinical setting that will give you the time to discuss your concerns and needs at leisure.
Our chairs are comfortable, the atmosphere will hopefully help you feel at ease and welcome. We have the time to listen and if you need, we will help you to find the right support and information that meets your individual needs.
We have free tea and coffee, cold drinks and biscuits available for you too.
Listening Ear
We understand that living with cancer can feel isolating and lonely at times and some people find it hard to talk to family and friends about their cancer and concerns.
For family and friends it is can be hard to know what to say or to understand what is happening.
Please feel free to telephone or drop in and ask to talk to either one of our volunteers or you can book a specific time for a one to one chat with the manager, Gillian.
Advice and Support
We stock a number of books and leaflets that can provide information about your cancer and the types of treatment you may be offered. We also stock general support books that are relevant to all types of cancer.
We have contact details for services and support within the hospital and the local community that might be able help you.
We also have many support groups, exercise classes, self management courses and social activities that you can access via the centre.
We will always do our best to meet your individual needs or to point you in the right direction.
