About Us

The Cancer Wellbeing and Information Centre was opened in December 2019 in a building funded entirely by community donations to Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity’s Cancer Centre Campaign.

The Cancer Wellbeing and Information Centre works in partnership with local health and social care providers, local and national community and voluntary organisations, and with local charities and support groups to introduce people to wellbeing activities and resources that can help to meet their individual needs.

If you telephone or call into the centre, the team will listen to your concerns and how you are feeling, without judgement, and help you to find solutions to the non-medical challenges that you are facing.

They can offer you information about emotional and practical support, coping with side effects, financial advice, getting back to work and making healthy lifestyle choices.

They can also introduce you to one of our wellbeing programmes or activities designed to help improve your sense of wellbeing that are held either within our centre or in the local area.  This support is available before, during and after cancer treatment.

The Cancer Wellbeing and Information Centre is situated at the front of the Colchester Hospital grounds, next to the duck pond and car parks, and is ideally placed to allow anyone attending clinic appointments, radiotherapy, chemotherapy outpatients or the ward to easily access information and support, in addition to what you can find here on our website.

If you would like to make a donation

We do not expect any donations but of course we are always delighted when people are able to donate as it enables the Cancer Wellbeing and Information Centre to continue making a difference to others,

You can donate to the Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals charity online here, (you will need to select the Cancer Wellbeing Centre fund from the drop down box on the donation page). To see how we use our donations visit our fundraising section of the website.

Thank you very much.
