Headwear

There is a great deal of choice as to what type of headwear you may choose. There are also many ideas of how to tie scarves and create different styles. You can also buy fringes or hair pieces that can give the impression you have hair under the hat/scarf.

The Cancer Wellbeing and Information Centre has a small selection of ex-display and used wigs and head coverings/headscarves – these are available for patients to take in exchange for a small donation to the Centre.

The following links will hopefully give a wide range of ideas of where and what you can buy. But it is far from an exclusive list, you can of course search the internet yourself.

We have not chosen these links for any reason other than to give you a range of ideas as to what is available. The choice is very much yours and your own preference.

Cancer Hair Care

Cancer Hair Care are the only charity in the UK who are dedicated to supporting people throughout their entire hair loss journey. They offer free, expert advice and support on all aspects of hair loss, hair loss prevention (scalp cooling) and hair care, before, during and after cancer treatments.

They have lots of helpful information and support on their website about hair loss and wigs, including information about scarves, hats and headwear. This webpage can be accessed here.

Whilst we cannot specifically recommend a supplier, some patients have suggested these have been useful. Please check as some may add a delivery charge.
