You will need to complete a referral form before attending any of our exercise initiatives. This information will be shared with the course instructor to ensure they are aware of all your specific needs/ limitations and your own goals and your contact details.
The classes are held on a Wednesday afternoon for 1 hour.

Who can attend the classes?
Any patient with a cancer diagnosis.
What is the aim of the class?
To help you adapt, improve or strengthen your swimming technique. This might be because you have had surgery which has restricted some of your movement or weakened your upper body muscles.
You may have side effects from cancer treatment that has left you feeling fatigued, or with peripheral nerve damage to hands/feet or other side effects that you need extra support for.
You may have lost your confidence getting into your costume due to changes to your body image.
Your may have a goal to learn to swim
You may have chosen swimming for your regular exercise and need support/motivation to do this.
You can access this class for up to 15 sessions.
What can you expect at the class?
Our swimming coach Philippa has the patience, kindness and knowledge to help you achieve your goal. The classes are small so people can swim and work on their own goals with Philippa’s support.
Are there any costs involved?
No this is funded.

Pay and display parking facilities are next to the pool
The facilities are disabled friendly
There are men's and ladies toilets and a separate disabled toilet with changing facilities
There is also a pool hoist
There are individual poolside changing rooms.
There are vending machines for drinks and snacks

Sessions are weekly (term time)
